Once again, I’m off on a diversion. As I work towards customizing my Forum, I still realize I have a fair bit to do. I’ve checked out Snitz and some of the other free ASP forums, but I hadn’t looked back at MegaBBS since last November. Somehow this time I’m very impressed and it now looks like the best of the bunch. MegaBBS is even implementing RRS in its next version.
So I spent several hours downloading and testing it out. Their default color scheme is very nice. But when I compare it to the blue of the rest of my site, it really clashes. I’d have a big job in redoing one of the color schemes (either my Behold pages, or the skin for the Forum. It does have a “flat” view, but still you can only see just one message per thread rather than all of them.
Debate … debate … debate. Should I switch now. Nope. Let’s just finish what I’m doing. If Behold becomes so successful that my own Forum can no longer handle the load, then I can contemplate switching then.
I know I’m having a lot of fun doing this, but I better finish off this Forum stuff so I can get back to Behold again.
