I have Version 0.98.9c alpha, 03 Jun 2007.
After the newsletter yesterday I attempted to upgrade directly from the program to the 0.99.10 beta version but the pop up box continues to tell me I already have the latest version. Am I doing something wrong?

It is possible to type in the 'Behold is ready for input - Please open a file' Main window when no file is open. Is there a purpose for this, as anything typed cannot be saved.

Questions and Answers: Adoptions and Blended Families

I was wondering how Behold is set up to work with adoptions and blended families. I have some ancestors from the 1700's who were married more than once having children with each spouse and then the children were adopted/blended into one family. I noticed on my file, that one of these families showed that a child was a member of one of the families (he died shortly after birth). This child had a younger brother who does not show up under the biological dad, but does show up under the adopted father. Is there a way for this child to show up under both the biological and adopted parent?

Thank you.
Jennifer

My daughter has a history class where they are studying historical figures on our family tree. Does 'Behold" or any other program allow you to select a "To individual" and a "From individual" for Ancestry/Descendant charts? We really don't want all the extra people on the charts.

Questions and Answers: Omitting Maiden/Married name calculation

By default, Behold displays women with both maiden and married names, with the maiden name in brackets. With different name orders in the GEDCOM file (such as those in India), this ends up being incorrect and confusing.

Is it possible to set an option to just display the maiden name for women, without trying to do any calculations on the married name?

Questions and Answers: Sources

Only 17 of 54 GEDCOM's used the SOUR tag? So, with the advent of the internet and the ability to graft whole branches onto a family trr in a few seconds are people no longer documenting their sources?

I find this low number of SOURced GEDCOMS both disheartening and not surprising from what I've seen in recent genealogy.
