No go. Another dud. I’m putting in so much time, but I keep getting yet another obstacle in my way. Of course I am using 4 sample files in my Quick Start help that I have never tried before. And of course as I run through them to make the help, I see a few problems that I’ve never seen before. And of course I just can’t leave well enough alone and I try to fix them. I could put out the alpha with those obvious problems there. So why is it that I just have to try to fix them first?

Then I realize I had better try Behold on a Windows XP machine to make sure it works there before the release. My development machine is Windows 98, and it should run fine on XP, but it is always best to check first. I’ve tested earlier versions some time back, but I haven’t tried it recently. After fixing some simple minor problems, I found the menu screen line is drawn with a white background instead of grey as it should be. It’s a small glitch, but looks shabby. So I spend 5 hours trying to fix it, without success. Must have tried 100 different things, searched 50 different web sites for answers. Rebuilt Behold 100 times. I still have 10 different ideas on this. This is very wearing.

You’re not the only one getting frustrated waiting for my alpha release. I am as well. Bullwinkle will have to try to pull yet another rabbit out of his hat again. Sorry.
