A few important bugs needed to be fixed, and so this second interim version is now available.
Next on the agenda will be doing what’s necessary to ensure Behold meets Microsoft Vista standards. But before that, I’ll be going through the upgrade experience - upgrading my wife’s laptop from Windows XP to Windows Vista. We bought her laptop last November, and it has a label on it that claims it’s “Windows Vista Capable”, so I don’t expect to have any hardware incompatibilities.
It also came with a “free” upgrade for Vista. What they didn’t tell you up front was that you had to request your upgrade kits prior to March 31, 2007, but after that you’re too late. Fortunately, I had done mine in time. The HP upgrade redirected me to a 3rd party (ModusLink) that handled all the North American upgrades. I expected I would still have to pay for shipping costs, but to my surprise, there was no charge at all! The upgrade kit arrived about 4 weeks later.
For your entertainment/amusement I’ll write about the upgrade process in my next few blog entries and give you my feelings along the way.
