Want to know a secret? I did a little more looking into Research Organizing programs and found a couple of pages: Overview of Windows Outlining Programs by John Buckman and Software for Research (using Windows) by Jay Tate. The state of these programs is really no better than that of Genealogy programs. They are all basically the same, except each has a few different features. Evernote, although looking like it is potentially the best - is still in beta, still is a bit clunky, and cannot work for me on Windows 98.
The secret is that I’ve always had it in the back of my mind that Behold can be made double as a full-fledged Research Organizing program that would fit well into my Everything Report concept and be very much to my liking - and I’m sure many other people’s. But up to now, I had thought the state of these programs was much more advanced than it is. So I am penciling in adding Research Organizing into Version 3.0 of Behold. Now I’ve just got to get back to get Version 1.0 out first.
