It seems to be a lively debate. There is also a link there to <a href="http://www.who.int/gender/whatisgender/en/index.html" rel="nofollow">a World Health Organization page that compares the terms</a>. At least with Behold, you'll be able to let it say what you want it to say. The default tag is just that, a "default" that you can override. Once editing is included in version 2, you'll be able to add your own custom tags, and add a _GNDR tag if you want.
